Decanting Time: Open bottle for 30 minutes, decant and serve at 18°C.

Good to know: The history of Château d’Issan mainly consists of a long list of property transfers and legacies. Through inheritance and marriage, the estate has been passed down from one owner to another, each contributing to its reputation and shaping its distinctive character. Initially known as La Mothe-Cantenac in the 12th century, it later became Théobon Manor when a female heir married a lord with the same name.
Even without the famous 1855 classification that recognizes it as a 3rd Grand Cru Classé, Château d’Issan had already established its prestige long ago. In fact, it was reported to have been served at the wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henri Plantagenet, the future King of England, on May 18, 1152.
The 2019 vintage of Château d'Issan showcases a beautiful harmony between its sun-ripened aromas and the smooth texture of its tannins. Our winemakers carefully blended the wines in mid-January, resulting in a wine that is both balanced and velvety.
