The second Grand Clu Classe in 1855: Château Léoville Poyferré was established in 1840 when Baron Jean-Marie de Poyferre added his name to Leoville.
Château Léoville Poyferré made sure that they maintain a natural balance, taking care of nature which provides for their winemaking needs. They integrated the Environmental Management System for Bordeaux wine in 2016 which lead them to obtain the High Environmental Value – Level 3 (the highest level) since 2017.
