Good to know: The wines of La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou originate from Château Ducru-Beaucaillou's vineyard located in the prestigious Médoc region, situated between the Gironde River to the east and the center and west of the Saint-Julien appellation. The estate gets its name from the abundance of "beautiful pebbles" ("beaux cailloux" in French) found in its soil, which is low in essential nutrients due to the high quartz content of these stones.
This unique mineral composition, known as "agrological paucity" according to Bordeaux professor and geographer René Pijassou, is ideal for producing high-quality wines. The vineyards to the east are planted on the undulating ridges of the Médoc, near the estuary, while those at the heart of the estate benefit from a microclimate influenced by the La Mouline stream flowing through the appellation from west to east before reaching the Gironde.
The La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou wine is a unique representation of the Ducru-Beaucaillou terroirs, crafted with care and dedication by a team of experts. This exceptional blend showcases the elitist approach of Ducru-Beaucaillou, combining Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot Noir, and Petit Verdot for a perfectly balanced and aromatic experience.
With a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of Petit Verdot, this wine is powerful, silky, and incredibly aromatic. La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou delights with its bouquet, balance, finesse, and lasting finish. A true gem in the Borie collection, this cuvée is sure to captivate the senses and leave a lasting impression.
