Good to Know: Bernard's grandfather, Henri Bouvier, founded the estate at Marsannay in 1910. Bernard then took over in 1992, expanding the Domaine René Bouvier. He began collaborating with Premier Cru and Grand Cru winemakers in the year 2000.
The foundations of a new qualitative method were in place in 2001: manual harvesting in compact 20 kilogram boxes with sorting tables, gravity fermentation, and so on. The same year, 2 hectares (in Gevrey-Chambertin) were purchased, including the very old vineyards that make up the Racine du Temps cuvée (90-year-old vines).
They have continued to follow the same working philosophy since 2016, albeit without official accreditation. Bernard inherited his brother Régis' vineyards in 2019.
This Rene Bouvier Bourgogne Pinot Noir cuvée is made from 40-year-old vineyards from Marsannay, Gevrey Chambertin, Brochon, and Fixin. As a result, Bourgogne from several terroirs, all of aristocratic provenance. The delicacy of the fresh fruits of the vine may be found in this wine. The Côte de Nuits. It has a true body, which permits it to be stored for a few years, but its juicy character will entice you to try it from early bottling years.
Can be best paired with braised veal, steaks with gravy and roasted poultry or roasted pork.
