Our suggestion for decanting time is based on bottles we tried at Txanton in 2020. We guarantee that Txanton stocks are imported and maintained in proper storage within the correct temperature and humidity suitable for wine.
Good To Know: Since 2005, Domaine Robert Groffier practices sustainable farming and forbids the use of herbicides in their vineyards. They also own the largest holdings compared to other producers in the Les Amoureuses premier cru site which allows for more competitive pricing versus their counterparts in the region.
The Domain Groffier Bourgogne Pinot Noir is flush with macerated cranberries and raspberry notes on the nose. As its bouquet opens up, it reveals gorgeous nuances of earthy forest floor and wet stone. The palate remains beautifully fruit driven with a tension and structure that emulates higher level pinot noirs in the region. A subtly threaded note of spice together with sporadic nuances of minerality also come into the fore as the wine heads towards its conclusion. The finish is refreshing and filled with slender but amazingly ripe tannins.
Established in the early 19th century by Frederick Groffier, the domaine has been owned by the family ever since. However, it was only in the mid 20th century that the estate began to bottle and sell their own wines under the Domaine Groffier label both domestically and internationally.
