Dominio de Atauta Parada de Atauta 2022 is an elegant, high-altitude red wine crafted in the remote and extreme Atauta Valley of Soria, at the eastern edge of D.O. Ribera del Duero. Made entirely from 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) sourced from ancient, low-yielding bush vines—many of them pre-phylloxera and over a century old—grown on sandy, pebble-strewn soils over limestone bedrock at nearly 1,000 meters elevation, it is aged for approximately 12 months in French oak. The nose is perfumed and expressive, revealing aromas of ripe blackberries, wild cherries, and plums interwoven with violet florals, dried scrub herbs (thyme and rosemary), and subtle hints of mocha and crushed stone. On the palate, it trades heavy extraction for purity and tension, delivering concentrated yet juicy dark fruit framed by fine-grained, velvety tannins and an energetic, high-altitude acidity that carries through to a long, savory, and chalky-mineral finish.
