Good to Know: The estate was first established in the middle of the nineteenth century, but Amédée Merme spent much of the first decade of the 20th century organizing and growing the vineyard. Together with his son Armand, they worked to make high-quality wines in order to protect the estate's reputation in France and elsewhere. Marie-France Merme and her husband Henri Perrot-Minot carried on her father Armand's work in the 1970s. The estate was renamed Perrot-Minot after Marie-France and Henri took over management following Armand's passing.
After seven years as a wine dealer, their son, Christophe Perrot-Minot, joined the estate and became manager in 1993. His past expertise had given him an in-depth understanding and true command of wine cultivation.
The Domaine Perrot-Minot Morey Saint Denis La Rue de Vergy was grown on soil that unveils an underlayer of exquisite limestone gravel. Such superficial soils are an amalgamation of brown and blond clay limestone – exceptionally tillable earth intertwined gracefully with gravel. The superior section rewards with posh, exquisitely composed, invigoratingly fresh, and robust wines.
The nose has a high-class bouquet. With a mineral and intensity of fresh mix of red and dark currant.
