Good To Know: Giacomo Fenocchio is based in Barolo, in Piedmonte region of Italy. It is a family cared for vineyard passed down from five generations. Now, the current estate is owned and ran by Claudio Fenocchio with his brothers and house winemaker. Making sure to not only maintain but also improve the quality.
Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Bussia 2021 is a refined and structured expression of the famed Bussia cru in Monforte d’Alba. Produced using traditional techniques, it undergoes a lengthy maceration and is aged in large Slavonian oak casks, allowing the character of the Nebbiolo to shine. The wine opens with an elegant bouquet of violet, wild cherry, mint, sage, and hints of licorice and leather. On the palate, it is vibrant and full of energy, showing ripe red fruit, savory herbs, and a mineral edge, supported by polished tannins and bright acidity. Though youthful, it already shows great balance and depth, with excellent aging potential through 2040 and beyond. Ideal with rich dishes such as braised meats, game, mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses, this Barolo benefits from decanting and promises to evolve beautifully in the cellar.
