Good to Know: In the Cote de Nuits in Domaine Vougeot, close to the famous Chateau du Clos Vougeot, Bertagna is a wine estate located in Burgundy, France.
Domaine Bertgana produces white and red wines using their own Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes in their regional appellations, villages, premier crus and grand crus.
The Domaine Bertagna Clos de La Perriere Monopole is cultivated using organic farming techniques with utmost care for the soil. The vineyard management includes rigorous yield control through green harvesting and de-budding. The grapes are handpicked and carefully sorted in the field, followed by selective sorting at the winery. The wine undergoes a meticulous aging process of 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, with 50% of the barrels being new oak.
Elegantly refined, this wine presents a delicate profile. Its aromatic notes encompass black fruits, truffle, and spices, creating a captivating scent. The palate unravels an intense experience marked by hints of grilled almond and underwood, elegantly complemented by a pleasing minerality. The tannins, delicate and silky, contribute to the wine's admirable character, enhancing its overall appeal and refinement.
