Good to know: Early in 2000, Rene Barbier purchased Partida Pedrer and together with his wife, Sara Perez (daughter of Jose Luis Perez - one of the "Priorat Five" who are known for reviving and promoting the Priorat region,) planted Garnatxa Negre and officially established Rene I Sara Viticultors Partida Pedrer. The location is famed for its amazing llicorella soils (unique to Priorat) and is ideally suited for the producing incredibly ripe and complex wines. It is also situated near several noteworthy, historical vineyards in the area.
The 2009 Partida Bellvisos from Gratallops is a powerful and expressive Priorat red, made by Sara Pérez and René Barbier Jr. This vintage blends old-vine Carinyena and Garnatxa, grown organically and biodynamically on the region’s distinctive slate soils. Known for its depth and structure, the wine offers rich dark fruit layered with earthy, mineral notes. With a 94-point rating, it stands out as a superb example of the complexity and character that define great Priorat wines.
