Decanting Time: open the bottle for 15 to 20 minutes and leave the wine breath. Serve at 12°C.
Good to know: the grapes used for the production of Seleccion de Anada come from old vines over 45 years old planted following the trellis system, so that the plant is protected from the soil moisture and has a great leaf surface area exposed to the sun.
The vineyard is planted about 300 meters above sea level, on poor sandy soil of decomposition of granite. This wine is aged on its lees in stainless steel deposits for 30 months. Once bottled, it rests for at least 12 months before coming out on the market.
The results? A wonderful albariño wine,.. one of the best ever made in Spain and ready to be consumed now or to be kept for the next 5 to 10 years, in which it will evolve in a very positive way showing a wider complexity. Pazo de Senorans is the leading producer in Rías Baixas widely recognized as one of Spain’s finest producers.
Seleccion de anada is a creamy, mature and structured white wine. As with every vintage, it displays the aromas of ripe white stone fruit with sharpness and intensity, with floral notes and an elegant mineral touch. On the palate it is full, expressive and very lingering.
Pazo de Senoráns, now converted into a winery, is a magnificent example of those XVI century ancestral Galician houses built in the countryside with all the charm and dignity of days gone by.
The Pazo and the winery owned originally by husband and wife Marisol Bueno and Javier Mareque (and now in the hands of their four children Marisol, Vicky, Javier and Santiago) began producing wine in 1989, although the estate had already started growing wine-grapes.
