Decanting Time: Decant for 30-45 minutes and serve at 18°C. This wine will still show structure and power but at the same time elegance and finesse.
Our suggestion for decanting time is based on bottles we tried at Txanton over 2024. We guarantee Txanton stocks are imported and maintained on a proper storage with right temperature and humidity.
Good to know: In Tudela de Duero and Traspinedo, Castilla y Leon, their 80 hectares of vineyards, planted mainly with Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) and Syrah, are located on light soils, well filtered, easy to work and balanced texture, limestone or clay-calcareous depending on the parcel.
The average age of the vines is between 25 and 35 years. In the vineyard no herbicides or pesticides are used. The auxiliary fauna is respected to the maximum and the natural reserves of the vineyard.
Mauro is the emblem of quality and the flagship of the winery. It was the first wine made exclusively by Mariano García, a legend of Spanish winemaking with 50 vintages behind him and winemaker for Vega Sicilia for 30 years. The name of this wine is the tribute that its maker dedicates to his father.
Still today the aging of this wine is carried out in the stately restored seventeenth century mansion that has witnessed the origins of Bodegas Mauro.
Since 1978, Bodegas Mauro has been characterized for producing quality red wines with vocation for ageing and limited production. Wines which are balanced, opulent and sensual, which express the identity of the terroir, the characteristics of the grape varieties and personality of the wine maker. On the Spanish wine scene, Mauro produces wines with a modern style but with roots, devoted to tradition and with signs of self identity which make them recognizable.
