Decanting Time: No need, but a wider like a white wine glass will help on the complexity of this fine Champagne. Chilled and serve at 10-12°C.
Our suggestion for decanting time is based on bottles we tried at Txanton in 2023. We guarantee that Txanton stocks are imported and maintained in proper storage within the correct temperature and humidity suitable for wine.
Good to Know: The renowned Champagne Lancelot-Pienne has been attentively sustained by five successive generations of wine producers. At the onset of the previous century, Jean-Baptiste LANCELOT, who was then the lead winemaker at Maison Mumm in Cramant, began cultivating his initial swathes of vineyard. This passion for viticulture was inherited by his son, Jean, who embarked on his own journey of champagne creation after gathering considerable knowledge and experience from various Champagne houses. It was subsequent to World War II that Jean introduced his first bottles to the market.
Albert, a viticulture-oriented son, tied the knot with Brigitte PIENNE. Like Albert, Brigitte hails from Champagne, a family fond of vine cultivation and winemaking. Back in 1967, the vineyards owned by both families were consolidated, a step that enabled the estate's growth. Ever since this unification, our firm has sustained independence in the production of champagnes. Constant quality oversight is implemented, spanning from the grape processing phase to the global bottle distribution.
In 1995, following his studies in oenology and commerce, Gilles joined his father's business. This fusion of new viticulture practices and theories with time-tested wisdom helped propel the House onto the international scene. Together with his wife, Céline Perceval, they pursue an uncompromising commitment to precision in winemaking and respect for the crucial raw material - the grape. All these efforts are guided by a philosophy that is central to the House - maintaining harmony with the world, our vines, and their surroundings."
Professional oenologist, Gilles, has been overseeing the operation since 2005. His family traditions and the knowledge gleaned from his father enables him to continue enhancing the reputation and uniqueness of our champagnes.
Lancelot-Pienne 'Table Ronde' Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut has a golden color being a lightly aged Chardonnay. The nose has a mineral hint with a bit of gunflint and a bit of pastry. It has a brioche sweetness and a slight scent of lemon. The palate is full and characterized by salinity. A persistence of the aromas go a long way.
This Champagne is great to drink on its own or as an aperitif with smoked salmon or oyster au gratin and other fish dishes.
