Decanting Time: Open the bottle and decant for 1 hour and serve at 18°C.
Our suggestion for decanting time is based on bottles we tried at Txanton over 2024. We guarantee Txanton stocks are imported and maintained on a proper storage with right temperature and humidity.
Good to know: Ferrer/Bobet is the future showplace of Priorat.
This Vinyes Velles is a blend of Cariñena with 30% Garnacha from the cooler part of the village of Porrera. It is fermented in a mixture of oak and stainless steel and matured in French oak barrels for 15 months.
No expense has been spared in the construction of a magnificent winery and in the planting of the vineyards. Sergi Ferrer-Salat is a young pharmaceutical tycoon with apparently a much greater interest in fine wine than medicines, while his partner Raul Bobet was the long-time winemaker at Torres. Ferrer-Salat makes it clear that his goal is to make the greatest wine possible without regard to whether he makes money or not. We are not sure if Bobet would totally agree, but it appears that he is up for the challenge.
The winery has been able to access to the great old-vines for Carignan and Grenache grapes so they might have some difficulty surpassing what they have already achieved when their vineyard mature... looking forward!
