Good To Know: One of the most successful and largest domaines in Burgundy, Domaine Faiveley's success is deeply rooted in both its wine making philosophy as well as the family's mercantile expertise. Focusing on the creation of amazing, age worthy wines from both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Domaine Faiveley makes use of traditional winemaking methods with a touch of modernity. The combination of modern barrel presses, custom made wooden vats and deep 19th century cellars make for a brilliant combination and unique flare for their outstanding wines.
Founded in 1825 by wine merchant, Joseph Faiveley, the domaine's humble beginnings all started with trade along the rivers and canals throughout the region. Common practice at that time was to trade wines in exchange for textiles. Led today by Eve and Erwan Faiveley, the family owns plots from several grand cru and premier cru sites all across Burgundy. Apart from their top tier Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines, Domaine Faiveley also produces vibrant, everyday wines made from the Aligote varietal.
