Good To Know: The family and producer behind Azienda Agricola F.lli Cigliuti has always made sure to pay special attention to detail. They give importance to skill, passion, knowledge of terroir and sensitivity when it comes to these wines. All four generations has produced wines with precision and skill which resulted to 30,000 bottles a year.

These wines had been aged for 25-55 years in Slavonian oak casks and French oak mild-sized casks. These were fermented in steel vats which are had well controlled temperatures.

The wine is best served with roast and braised red meats, game, truffle dishes and mature cheeses.

Cigliuti Barbaresco Bricco di Neive Vie Erte 2021 is an elegant and expressive Nebbiolo from the Bricco di Neive cru in Neive, Piedmont. Sourced from organically farmed vines planted in 1997 on calcareous sandy soils at about 350 meters above sea level, the wine is made in small quantities with great attention to detail. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts and followed by a 15 to 20-day maceration in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine then matures for 26 months in large Slavonian oak casks before bottling. It opens with aromas of cherry, strawberry, rose, menthol, and hints of iron, with subtle spice and vanilla nuances from oak aging. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with vibrant acidity, fine structure, and a mineral-driven finish that speaks of its terroir. Built to age gracefully, this Barbaresco is refined, focused, and ideal for pairing with roasted meats or truffle dishes.
