Good to Know: Anselmo Mendes is a well-recognized wine producer with consistent surprising innovation. An excellent creator that integrates age-old techniques with bold winemaking methods such as fermentation of Alvarinho in oak casks. A well-known established man not only in Portugal but also abroad. He started fermenting and barrel ageing in 1987 and acquired an estate in Melgaco 10 years later. The winery is a result of a long connection to the land and the revolutionary methods and respect for the ecosystem.
Anselmo Mendes 'Muros Antigos' Loureiro roots from the birth place of Loureiro grapes, the Lima sub region. The vineyard runs along the Lima River where it harvests the freshness from the Atlantic Ocean. This helps with the aromatics of the wines, crystalline acidity and salinity.
Loureiro wine has a delicate nose where an aroma of white flowers are noticeable. On the palate, a delicate yet well balanced refreshing acidity and floral flavors. An elegant mouth watering finish.
